Chris de Brey, Supervisor, Statistical Services

Chris de Brey is an agricultural economist with a PhD from Texas A&M University who brings to TSI a wealth of experience in international economic forecasting and commodity analysis. Previous to coming to TSI in 1999, Chris assessed and forecast the situation for major crop and livestock commodities at WEFA, an economic forecasting company, and at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service, where he covered a series of commodities and developments in South America.

Chris also has an agronomic background from his native Argentina, where he developed livestock and crop development programs, including fertilization recommendations, for the Agricultural Technology Institute.

Chris manages TSI’s Sulphur Database, and is responsible for TSI’s Communiques, Newsletters and feature articles on issues/developments of interest and impact to TSI’s membership. Chris is fluent in Spanish and Dutch, with a working knowledge of Portuguese.
