Marcia Horn, Treasurer and Director of Member Relations and Events

Marcia Horn, TSI's treasurer and director of member relations and events, has a diverse, 35-year background in association management and corporate communications. Before joining TSI, she was director of national board relations and secretary to the board for the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI), the world's largest plastics industry organization. During a 10-year tenure there, her accomplishments included tactical organization for a new governance structure; streamlining the group's bylaws; planning international meetings and U.S. conferences.

Prior to joining SPI, she was director of communications for GE Consulting, a technology consulting division of General Electric. As vice president of communications and publishing at the Printing Industries of America, her responsibilities included management of the world's largest awards competition; development of an online bookstore; industry media relations; trade show management; marketing development; and member communications. At the Investment Company Institute (ICI, the American mutual funds association), she created a national Women's Investor Program, lecturing on financial planning to groups across the country.

An Ettinger Scholar at New York University, she graduated with honors in journalism. She has served as president of the Washington, DC chapter of Women in Communications; and has received awards from the Technical Communications Association, the Government Printing Office, and Conde Nast publications.
